Nevada Psychological Association Annual Awards
Each Spring at our Annual Conference, NPA recognizes psychologists for their efforts in the field of psychology as well as their contributions to our organization. If you would like to nominate someone for an award, please submit your nomination by email with a brief paragraph describing why you feel the candidate deserves the award. James Mikawa Award 

This award honors a psychologist whose work is outstanding in the field.  The outstanding work may be in the area of providing professional services or research. The namesake for this award is past UNR professor James Mikawa, who was with the Department of Psychology for 27 years serving in many administrative positions, including chair of the department. The one area James Mikawa most valued was mentoring and teaching students.

Outstanding Advocacy Award

This award honors a psychologist whose advocacy efforts have impacted psychology and psychologists

Outstanding Contribution to NPA Award

This award honors a psychologist whose work in our association has been of benefit to the organization.

Legislator of the Year Award

This award honors a Nevada Legislator for their outstanding contributions to the field of psychology and mental health services in the state of Nevada.
